If you’re in the tank storage business, you may know of these resource websites already – or have them bookmarked or are a frequent visitor – but we asked some of the industry’s top professionals on which websites or forums they use to get caught up-to-date on industry news.

If a website or forum hasn’t been mentioned, let us know through email: marketing@castagra.com.

Ron Ron Sarver, Vice President of Sales at Scantron Robotics USA, Inc.

tankchat.com

I love the idea of a professional social media site that already narrows down your business vertical. This website makes it more efficient to find contacts and prospects to help compliment your own business. Time is valued in the business world and this website makes my time even more valuable in my everyday routine. I do not have to funnel through other social media sites searching for prospects and businesses where my company’s services may be utilized. Anyone who works with industrial storage tanks should definitely be a member on this website.

Chris Chris Amstutz, Director –  Transportation, Terminals and Storage, Oil & Gas Industry Solutions

I created these posts on the Emerson Exchange365 community site – good listing of relevant sites – first two links are the most comphrensive:

  1. Emerson Exchange365
  2. Emerson Exchange365
  3. Emerson Exchange365
  4. Emerson Exchange365

Kelly Kelly Wright, Environmental/Emergency Management Associate at Compliance Management International

For organizations that offer great networking and quality conference/trade show opportunities I look to the following two groups:

  1. National Institute of Storage Tank Management (NISTM): www.nistm.com
  2. International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA): www.ilta.org

Because the bulk of my clients are in the petroleum industry, there are also two organizations whose standards publications I use frequently:

  1. American Petroleum Institute (API): www.api.org
  2. Steel Tank Institute (STI): www.steeltank.com

Of the four, NISTM is probably my top choice for favorite link.

Joost Joost Smits, Business development manager at Systems Navigator

The link I use most is tankterminals.com, because of the latest news and the knowledge base where I answer as many questions as possible.

Emma Ardley-Batt Emma Ardley-Batt, Global Marketing Manager, Emco Wheaton UK Ltd

As a marketing professional I am keen to keep up with all the latest industry news, and although many people will also know this, I find Tank Storage Magazine extremely useful. The site is really simple to navigate and the news teasers give just the right amount of information to give you a great overview of the industry. I have to of course mention tankchat.com. Although I’m new to the site I’m finding it extremely interesting. I have already started talking to some really interesting people with vast amount of knowledge so this is proving to be extremely valuable to me.

I am also finding the Easyfairs Stocexpo 2014 site really useful. Anyone who is new to the industry could pay a visit to this site and be able to easily see a who’s who of the industry along with plenty of information about their products and services.

And finally, I have to mention social media. Emco Wheaton’s social media profiles are fairly new but we have already grown a great following, of course we’re keen for more people to tune in to see what we’re up to, but by following other players in the industry we are able to see very quick snippits of what’s happening in the industry and keep up-to-date with the latest news.
